Trinidad near Redwood National Park Vacation Area

Trinidad is a quaint little community about 20 miles south of Orick, the point of entrance to Redwood National Park. Trinidad is 23 miles from the Prairie Creek redwoods to the north, and 64 miles north of Humboldt Redwoods State Park to the south.

This town comes across as being nicely maintained. Its like a California version of Manzanita in Oregon, with a touch of Cannon Beach minus the array of gift shops. Maybe why I find this spot so appealing to stay at sometimes.

There are also two rest areas 3 miles down the road, one each for southbound and northbound traffic, where an RV can be parked temporarily if you arrive too late at night.

Most of the town shuts down between 8pm and 10pm.

Daytime, you will find fuel, a good size grocery store, restaurants, RV resorts, lodging and a great view of the ocean. There are vacation rentals available too.

Dining ranges from lunch price meals to culinary dining. You might inquire about a restaurant called Larapins or Larapin, mentioned in many reviews.

One RV park there is called Emerald Forest ~ RV in the Redwoods. Easy to find online. Located along Patrick Point Drive which runs parallel to Highway 101. I have parked my trailer there several times for the electric and cable hookups. Its well maintained and clean.

This location can provide a great redwood vacation center due to the close proximity to several of the largest coast redwood parks along the coast.

You can find a bit more information about the community from the Trinidad Chamber of Commerce.
